FRANCIS GARDEN ESQ. JUNIOR'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Reel (whole time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by fiddler-composer Robert Petrie of Kirkmichael, Perthshire. It was the second tune, pride of place, in his Third Collection (1802), which he dedicated to Francis Garden Esq. Junior of Troup. Troup House was a mansion in Gamrie parish, Banffshire, near the coast, built about 1772. The family owned about 10,000 across of land in Banffshire in the latter 18th century.
