It was the second tune, pride of place, in his Third Collection (1802), which he dedicated to Francis Garden Esq. Junior of Troup. Troup House was a mansion in Gamrie parish, Banffshire, near the coast, built about 1772. The family owned about 10,000 across of land in Banffshire in the latter 18th century.
