FRANK PALMER. Irish, Planxty (6/8 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Sullivan): AAB (Holden). Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738), according to Holden's Collection of Old-Established Irish Slow and Quick Tunes (Dublin 1806-7). O'Sullivan (1958) finds three "Frank Palmer" candidates as possible persons referenced by the title (see p. 276).
