GIRL WITH THE LAUGHING EYES, THE (Cailin leis na miogsuile, An). AKA and see "Brightest Eyes," "Emlagation Reel," "Lame Fisherman (The)," "Paddy Killoran's (1)," "Sweeney's Dream." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AA'B (O'Neill/Krassen). Francis O'Neill may have had this tune from Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), where it appears as "Brightest Eyes;" the titles are similar. Paddy Killoran and Paddy Sweeney recorded the tune in duet in 1937 in New York, under the title "Sweeney's Dream". See also note for "Lame Fisherman (The)" for more.
