GLOUNTANE HIGHLAND, THE. Irish, Highland (4/4 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "The Glountane Highland" was composed in 1950 by accordion player Terry "Cuz" Teahan (1905-1989). He was originally from Glountane, south County Kerry, but lived many decades in Chicago, Illinois, where he worked for the Illinois Central, and where he was an integral and influential member of the Irish music scene in the city.
