GRANITE CITY, THE. Scottish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by James Scott Skinner (1843-1927), the 'Strathspey King', and published by him in 1881. 'Granite City' refers to Aberdeen, Scotland; locally quarried granite was used to build many of the city's most famous buildings.
