GREY EAGLE [6]. American, Reel (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Grey Eagle [6]" variants are from the playing of western North Carolina fiddlers Manco Sneed and Marcus Martin. They were contemporaries (with very similar birth and death dates) who knew each other and their "Grey Eagle" tunes are cognate. Compare also with Lowe Stokes' "Katy Did (1)."
