GREY FOX, THE. Irish, Reel. Composed by button accordion player Billy McComiskey in honor of his cat, born of legendary mother Casey, who lived at The Gandy Dancer in the Pigtown section of southwest Baltimore. Frank Claudy writes: "Casey's kitten's were so popular with patrons that there was a several litter waiting list. We got kitten #39, from the same litter that produced a giant named Muldoon and a dwarf that was promised to a veterinarian in Philadelphia. Casey had a special affinity for delivering in opened instrument cases. She died of accidental rat poison ingestion some time after producing kittens 54 - 59."
