GULF COAST BLUES. AKA - "Oh Baby Blues." American, Blues Song. The title of a Bessie Smith song recorded by a very young Texas fiddler named Bob Wills made for Brunswick in 1929 with guitarist Herman Arnspiger, although the side was unissued. Wills said that Smith was his favorite singer. The tune was recorded by the Light Crust Doughboys in 1939 under the title "Oh Baby Blues."
