HAMILTON RACES. AKA and see "Three Sheepskins (The)." Scottish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by the famous Inver fiddler and composer Niel Gow (1727-1807). Hamilton was once the County Town of Lanarkshire, Scotland, named for the Hamilton family. It was long a market town and was incorporated as a Burgh in 1451. Hamilton Park is still one of the premier racecourses in Scotland (although the course moved in 1926 to new grounds nearby).
