HAPPY NIGHT [2], THE. English, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The printed melody is unique to London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1765 country dance collection. It was entered into the c. 1770 music manuscript collection of fiddler William Clarke of Lincoln.
