HARLEQUIN NABOB. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Oriental Magic, or Harlequin Nabob was an Easter pantomime staged in 1785 at Sadler's Wells, London. The handbill advertised a safe route to the venue for patrons: "Patroles of horse and foot stationed from Sadler's Wells along the different roads from the hours of seven to eleven."
