HARRY COOPER. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "A set of this (probably Irish) tune is in O'Neill's Irish Music, No. 363. The first part, under various names, and joined to different second strains, must have been fairly widespread in fiddling tradition. Tunes of which the first part equals are DeVille, No. 90; Hardings Original Collection, No. 151; Seventy Good Old Dances, No 9, p. 35; Cole (1000 Fiddle Tunes), p. 41 'Land League (1)', p. 91, 'Jim Clark's Hornpipe', p. 108, 'Morpeth's Hornpipe'" [Bayard]. Bayard's (Dance to the Fiddle, 1981) untitled reel (No. 57, p. 40) is close to this.

Source for notated version: Irvin Yaugher (Mt. Independence, Pennsylvania, 1943; learned from his great-uncle) [Bayard].

Printed sources: Bayard (Hill Country Tunes), 1944; No. 32.
