HELENA POLKA. American, Polka. D Major ('A' and 'C' parts), A Major ('B' part) & G Major ('D' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'BB'CDD'. The melody was recorded in 1923 by the 'Peasant Band', a Victor recording studios group. It is among the most popular of polkas, recorded often by many artists, including the Jimmy Dorsey orchestra and Lawrence Welk.
