HERE'S A HEALTH UNTO HIS MAJESTY. English, Air (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Chappell records that this tune was very popular in the reign of Charles II, at least with those Cavaliers loyal to the King, and that it is twice mentioned in the plays of Shadwell (The Miser {1672} and Epsom Wells {1673}). The air appears in Playford's Musical Companion of 1667, 1672, and later editions, and as a three part song by Jeremiah Savile in The Musical Companion.
