HIGHLAND SOLDIER. Scottish, Air and March (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The late guitarist Tony Cuffe sang the song on the first Jock Tamson's Bairnes album, obtained from Bob Cherry who had it from an elderly Glasgow piper. The song is said to have been popular with the Highland Light Infantry in World War I.
