Irish, Hornpipe. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first strain is shared with the "Wicklow Hornpipe" family of tunes, a widespread tune family with a variety of titles. The present title, "The Home Brew", is from Frank Quinn (1893-1964), a fiddler from Greagh, Drumlish, Co. Longford, who played this as the first in a set of two tunes[1] that appear together under the title "The Home Brew--Hornpipe", recorded in New York in July, 1925.
