HORROCK'S RANT. AKA and see "Keppoch's Rant," "Pharo's Reel." English, Reel (whole time). A Major (Offord). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Horrocks Rant" can be found in the 1762 music manuscript collection of Cumbrian musician Joseph Barnes, and as "Keppoch's Rant" in the music manuscript collection of . The two titles are very similar and perhaps the same, save for a mishearing of one or the other title, or (more likely) a legibility issue in the manuscript. However, an earlier version of the tune can be found in Scottish writing master David Young's Drummond Castle Manuscript (1734) as "Pharo's Reel."
