HUNT [2], THE (An Seilg). Irish, Set Dance (cut time). G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Very similar to "Hunt (1) (The)."

Source for notated version: "Cronin" [O'Neill]. Chicago fiddler Edward Cronin, born in the 1840's in Limerick Junction, County Tipperary, was one of Captain O'Neill's primary sources and contributed many tunes to his collections. O'Neill would visit him weekly for a few years, until Cronin reacted to a perceived offense and cut off communication. He was a storehouse of tunes and an excellent and inventive player, but could also be suspicious, and boasted that he "neither forgot nor forgave" a slight.

Printed sources: O'Neill (Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies), 1903; No. 1800, p. 337.
