INDIAN WAR WHOOP [3]. American, Reel (2/4 time). USA, Arkansas. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Recorded by fiddler Hiter Colvin (1900-1975), who lived and played variously in northern Louisiana, Arkansas and East Texas. In October, 1929, he traveled to Dallas, Texas, to record six sides for the Victor company (see also "Monroe Stomp"). A tune by this title (perhaps this version) was recorded for the Library of Congress by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph from Ozark Mountain fiddlers in the early 1940's.
