INTREPID, THE. AKA and see "Cutting at the Broom," "Lass and the Money is All My Own (The)," "Portpatrick," "Port Patrick." English, Jig. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was also printed by John Johnson in his 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 8 (London, 1758). Almost a hundred years later the melody appeared in the music manuscript collection of Waverton, Cumbria, musician John Rook (1842), under the title "Cutting at the Broom." See also note for "Lass and the Money is All My Own (The)," and "Portpatrick."
