JOE'S LAST SINGLE. Canadian, Single Jig (12/8 time). Canada, Cape Breton. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Editor Paul Cranford explains that the elderly Irish-style Northside (Cape Breton) fiddler Joe Confiant had a repertoire of single jigs, but that the style had fallen out of favor with fiddlers and dancers in the generation after his. This tune he played about 1980, on his last visit to the Stubbert family.
