JOHN BELDEN'S TWO-STEP. Old-Time, Two-step (6/8 time). USA; Iowa, Nebraska. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. John Belden was "one of a trio of fiddlers of considerable local fame in western Iowa years ago. The other two were Frank Sexton and Willis Kirkpatrick" [Christeson]. Collector R.P. Christeson (1911-1992) made a field recording of Bob Walter's playing the tune in 1973; his recordings reside at the State Historical Society of Missouri.
