JOHN JAMESON. AKA - "Planxty James." Irish, Planxty (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Notated as having a 'Chorus', so may be a song also). Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). O'Sullivan (1958) believes the subject of the composition to have been John Jameson of Sligo, who died in 1728, and that Carolan probably wrote the song for his marriage.
