JOHN NEWGRANT COME HOME WITH A PAIN IN HIS HEAD. American, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Bayard (1944) believes this tune to be from Irish tradition, although he could not trace it. He believes the name may come from a fiddler's rhyme attached to the tune, a fairly common folk process.

Source for notated version: Mrs. Sarah Armstrong (Derry, Pennsylvania, 1943) [Bayard].

Printed sources: Bayard (Hill Country Tunes), 1944; No. 94.
