JOHNNY BOYLE'S JIG [1]. Irish, Double Jig. Ireland, County Donegal. A popular jig in County Donegal, recorded by the band Altan. Caoimhin Mac Aoidh remarks that Boyle, a talented fiddler, was from the townland of Braade, between Carrick and Glencolmcille, County Donegal, and is still remembered fondly in the locale. His neighbors were the O'Gara's (whose descendants own and manage a pub in Kilcar, Donegal, sketched in the Northern Fiddler) and Boyle himself would have been a contemporary of the late Paddy O'Gara's father who learned his tunes from Paddy Mhosai McGinley (older brother of the famed John Mhosai).
