For seven long years, Johnny court the Widder,
For seven long years, and then he didn't get her.

From fiddler biography:Roy Bennett (1895-1986), Battletown, Meade County, Kentucky, recorded in 1976 by Bruce Greene. Bennett played the tune in standard tuning--for Bruce Greene's 'G' cross-tuned version see "Johnny Court the Widow (2)."
