KEG WITH THE TAP IN IT, THE. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A version of "Cossey's Jig" or "Jimmy O'Brien's Jig" (both usually played in the key of 'G'). See note for "Cossey's Jig" for more on this large tune family.

Source for notated version: the c. 1885 music manuscript collection of Francis Reynolds (1862-1946, Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford). Researcher Conor Ward notes that later transcriptions were added to the MS, including "Keg with the Tap in it," by his niece, Maggie Reynolds (1908-1995).
