KEG WITH THE TAP IN IT, THE. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A version of "Cossey's Jig" or "Jimmy O'Brien's Jig" (both usually played in the key of 'G'). See note for "Annotation:Cossey's Jig" for more on this large tune family.
Source for notated version: the c. 1885 music manuscript collection of Francis Reynolds (1862-1946, Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford). Researcher Conor Ward notes that later transcriptions were added to the MS, including "Keg with the Tap in it," by his niece, Maggie Reynolds (1908-1995).
