KELTON'S REEL. AKA - "Kelten's." AKA and see "Off with Your Jacket," "Old Dad," "Pigtown Fling," "Stoney Point (1)," "Stony Point (1)," "Warm Stuff," "Wild Horse," "Wild Horses at Stony Point." Scottish (originally), Irish, American; Reel or Highland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Boston publisher Elias Howe likely obtained the tune from George Saunders' violin tutor, published in Boston in 1847. Saunders was a music teacher and dance fiddler from Providence, Rhode Island. The tune appears under the "Kelton's" title in the later Howe publications White's Collection and in Ryan's Mammoth, although it does not appear in Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes (the 1940 successor to Ryan's).
