KILDRUMMY CASTLE [2]. Scottish, Slow Air (whole time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by fiddler-composer and dancing master J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), who dedicated it to Dr. Christie of Kildrummy. Rev. John Christie, Kildrummy, rose to the Divinity Chair in Aberdeen University. "Dr. Christie's family inherit his musical knowledge and ardour, one daughter holding an excellent position as a teacher and public vocalist in London, while another is, as I write, organist of Aberdeen University Chapel" [William Carnie, Further Aberdeen Reminiscences, 1906, p. 76]
