KILMOVEE JIG, THE. AKA and see "Larrisey's," "Session Jig (The)." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. This jig was popularized by Dermot Grogan, a flute player and button accordionist from Kilmovee, County Mayo, who taught it to members of the Kilmovee Ceili Band. For this reason, the tune has also been called "Dermot Grogan's."
