KISSING AND DRINKING [5]. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Mixolydian(?). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This undobuted piping tune is contained in Book 1 (p. 19) of the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman. Goodman also entered another tune with this title in his mss. for which see "Kissing and Drinking (2)." Hugh and Lisa Shields suggest a comparison of "Kissing and Drinking [5]" with an untitled jig in Breathnach's Ceol Rince na hÉireann vol. 2 (No. 43), which is a version of "Hag at the Churn (The)."
