KITTY AND THE BABY. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, north Ga. Recorded in Atlanta in 1930 by Georgia fiddlers Lowe Stokes (Elijay, Ga.) and Bert Layne, approximately one and a half months before Stokes lost his right hand in a hunting accident. Stokes recorded with several of North Georgia musicians, assembled in different groupings for various recordings, and calling themselves by several names: the Pot Lickers, the Swamp Rooters, the Georgia Pot Likers, etc.
