KNOCKING HORNPIPE. American, Walk Round (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. From the title, the melody appears to be associated with blackface minstrelsy, in the mode of such songs as "Who's Dat Knockin (at the Hen-House Door)," in which rapping the instrument is featured in the piece.
