L'ACCROCHE-PIED(S). AKA - "Uncle Peter's Tune." French-Canadian, Reel (cut and 3/2 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. A traditional tune in the repertoire of Idilon Mimeault, father of fiddler Yvon Mimeault (b. 1928, Mont-Louis, Gaspé). The title comes from one of Yvon's piano accompanists, Jean Bellavance. A cognate version of the tune is to be found in "Uncle Peter's Tune," a reel played blistering fast by fiddler Kingsley Marion, originally from one of the anglo-francophone communities near Douglastown, eastern Gaspé, Québec.
