LADY BETTY'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. In William Bradbury Ryan's Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), a later publication of the Boston-based Elias Howe's company, the tune appears as "Lady Harriet's." However, Howe's source for the tune was probably Providence, Rhode Island, violinist and dance fiddler George Saunders, who published "Lady Betty's" in his 1847 violin tutor.
