LADY CUNNINGHAM. AKA - "Lady Cunningham's Reel." Scottish, Reel and Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears earliest in Niel Stewart's Collection of the Newest and Best Reels or Country Dances, printed in Edinburgh in 1761. The tune subsequently appeared in London publisher Thomas Skillern's Compleat Collection of Two Hundred & Four Reels, Twenty Four Country Dances for the Year 1780 (1780), and Niel Stewart's A Select Collection of Scots English Irish and Foreign Airs Jiggs & Marches (Edinburgh, 1788).
