LADY DOROTHEA STEWART MURRAY'S WEDDING MARCH. Scottish, Pipe March (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCCD (Hardie): AABB'CCDD' (Martin). Composed in 1895 by Aeneas Rose (1832-1905) of Kingussie, who was pipe major of the Atholl Highlanders for some forty years. It was written on the occasion of the Duke of Atholl's daughter's marriage to Harold Ruggles-Brise. According to Christine Martin, Lady Stewart was "an avid collector of Scottish fiddle music and left her collection to the A.K. Bell Library in Perth."
