LADY ELGIN'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD (Bremner): AA'BBCD (McGlashan). Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of the tune in print in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection (p. 62). The first strain is similar to that of Angus Cumming's "Delachaple's Reel."
