LADY NIVEN LUMSDEN OF ACHINDOIR'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). Lady Lumsden was Harriet Christian, the eldest daughter of General Alexander Leith-Hay of Rannes. She wed in 1821, marrying Sir Harry Lumsden of Auchindoir and Clova [Moyra Cowie, The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999].
