LADY SOPHIE HOPE'S MINUET. AKA and see "Lady Binnie's Minuet." Scottish, Minuet. Composed by Robert Mackintosh, c. 1771. In 1779 the tune was renamed "Lady Binnie's Minuet" when Ms. Sohie Hope married a peer. The name change helped inform the public of the match the young woman made, and helped keep her name in the public eye.
