LADY OF THE LAKE [10]. American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Lady of the Lake [10]" is sourced to the Crook Brothers and, later, to fiddler John Ashby (1915-1979) of Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia.
John Ashby
This is perhaps the version referenced by John Hartford as having been played for years by old time bands on the Grand Old Opry, and known around Middle Tennessee.
