LAMENT FOR SIR HARRY NIVEN LUMSDEN, BARONET OF ACHINDOIR. Scottish, Air ("Slow and Pathetic"). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by William Marshall (1748–1833) of Keithmore, near Fochabers, Banffshire. Sir Harry Niven Lumsden had the good fortune to inherit the estate of Clova from a rich uncle (Cowie, The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999). Lumsden married Harriet Christian Leith, daughter of Alexander Leith-Hay (1758–1838) of Rannes and Leith Hall, "General Sandie".
