LASSES OF LABASHEEDA. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Labasheeda (Leaba Shioda) is a village in County Clare, twenty-two miles east of Ennis. It is set in a picturesque spot on a peninsula on the banks of the Shannon estuary, near Glin. There is a traditional Irish set dance called the Labasheeda Reel Set. The first strain is cognate with a untitled jig in George Petrie's manuscripts that appears as "County Clare Jig" in Stanford/Petrie (1905, No. 943), for which see "Jig (37)."
