LAUREL AND LINDSAY. English, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB.

Source for notated version: Ship's fiddler William Litten, about whom little is known, but who compiled his manuscript while on a voyage with the British East Indies fleet, 1800-1802. Litten sailed with them to China and references to his return trip are contained in the ms. His copybook came into the possession of mariner Allen Coffin, of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., in the early 19th century, who brought it home to the island when he finished his seafaring. [Huntington].

Printed sources: Huntington (William Litton's Tune Book), 1977; p. 19.
