LEVI JACKSON RAG. English, New England; Dance Tune. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. A popular tune for the five-couple dance of the same name written by the late English collector, dance master and composer Pat Shuldham Shaw. It was commissioned by the Mountain Folk Festival, Adult Section held the last weekend in September at Levi Jackson State Park in London, Kentucky. Pat was the guest caller in 1974 and created a dance which could be danced around the two supporting posts in the old lodge hall.
