LINCOLNSHIRE LADS. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appeared first in print in London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1765 country dance collection, followed by a printing in Straight and Skillern's Two Hundred and Four Favourite Country Dances, vol. 1 (London, 1775). In America, country dance directions were printed in the Phinney's Select Collection of the Newest and Most Favorite Country Dances (Ostego, N.Y., 1808).
