LITTLE GOOD WIFE. Scottish, Slow Jig. One Part. A "goodwife" was once a term for the mistress of a household. The tune appears in the Panmure MS #9454, "Seventy Seven Dances, Songs and Scots Airs for Violin," c. 1675.
