LONESOME JIG [1], THE. AKA and see "Rolling Wave (1) (The)/Rolling Waves (1)." Irish, Slide (12/8 time). Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The first part is almost identical to Joyce's jig "Humors of Glenflesk (The)," a town not far from source O'Leary's home. See also the cognate "Old Woman's Purse of Money (2) (The)." Compare also with the "Maguire's Kick" family of jigs.
