LONG HILLS OF MOURNE [1] (Cnoic Fhada Mhughdhorna). AKA and see "Bush Reel (The)," "Captain Rock (2)," "Old Bush (1) (The)." Irish, Reel. A Dorian? D Mixolydian?. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Breathnach (1963) notes that George Petrie has an untitled version (Stanford/Petrie Complete Collection, 1905, No. 907) and says it is a County Clare reel. Elsewhere, Petrie says that his "Peggy is your head sick" when danced to goes by the name of "Long Hills of Mourne," but the melodies to the tunes usually played under those names are not similar. See note to "annotation:Old Bush (1) (The)" for more.
