LONGAIR'S PIPES. Scottish, Pipe Reel (cut time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by fiddler-composer and dancing master biography:J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927) and contained in a section of tunes called "Warblings from the Hills" composed in pipe style in Skinner's Logie Collection (1888). It was probably named for piper A.D. Longair, who won the Gold Medal at the Inverness piping competition in 1883.
